Session 15 The city was in flaming ruins and dust and ash. Flooded in one quadrant and levelled in another. Coryn could see what he once called home from the southern part of the city, or at least what was left of it. Azza's holding desperately onto the last thread of life in him as a heaping Collosal Dragon carcass lays beside him. The group quickly patches up what they can and magically restore their lives, or at least their physical lives... and head to the west side of the city where the screams of people can still be heard. Azza tells the group that there must still be on gate open because there were three of the Rhakshasas, and the father was the only one left. He warns not to underestimate this one. Nath scoffs and does not even look the least bit concerned, and somehow the least shaken of the party. As the party crosses the main road of town the sky blackens and the city growns dark and suddenly arrows fill the air. Coryn dodges and flies up the side of a building knocking a sniper off and taking down a wizard on the way back down. Drathys simply closes his eyes and numerous Drow fall to the ground dead and wilted while Kane manages to quickly neutralize the rest. As Coryn rounds a corner down the street he gets a glympse of the last Rhakshasa, and before the Rhakshasa can do anything Coryn un-sheathes his sword and seemingly does nothing. Then the Rhakshasa crumples into a heap of blood and fur. "Where to next?" Garrick asks dirtied and tired. No one answers, but instead they just get out the map and point toward the last weapon. "Nath's weapon, at least I think it is" Coryn says, and they look over to Nath who has an expression of pure satisfaction on his face. As the party heads towards the last weapon, it is almost trivial finding it now, as they move secret keys that have not been moved for 1000s of years, and traverse secret mazes never before travelled until they lay in a giant room with a sword and shield laying in the center of the room surrounded by a familiar blue orb. The party urges Nath to grab for it, but he is unable to penetrate the orb, and strangely does not look surprised. Raxy speaks up and says that she too is a Himool, and tries to take the weapon and is able to. Immediately they activate the sword and Raxy is enveloped in a pillar of fire. Almost as soon as the weapon was activately a gargantuan monster that looks neither dead nor alive appears in front of the only exit. Garrick charges forth bravely and gets pounded into the ground barely able to make an attack. Coryn tries his luck, and manages to make a significant scar on the beast but it starts to heal immediately. Everyone starts firing at the undead monster, but it is hard to make a dent that lasts. When things couldn't get much worse the creature rears up and crushes Garrick close to death and lets out a cloud of sickening pus that covers everyone. Only Coryn and Nath manage to avoid it leaving everyone violently ill and unable to do anything. Garrick cries out for help. Nath answers... "I'll help you" he says as he laughs maniacly, and pulls out a scroll which he rips up before he casts the spell, and meteors fall from the sky and hit everyone except Kane who barely gets out of the way. Suddenly it dawns on you... <click here to watch the revelation>. And while having this revelation, Nath says "That's right you fools! If you haven't figured it out, I am not Nath! I am Baatore! The weapons were sealed away to stop me, and by releasing them, you have released my power!" As he says this his face and body shift between 100s of different faces, and lastly the faces of your parents with horrible expressions of pain on their faces. Just as suddenly as this revelation occured to you, Baatore disapears. With almost all hope gone, Raxy manages to cast one last spell and heals the entire party. Coryn, Drathys, and Kane together open up with one large combined attack, and take down the creature. Battered and bruised, and near death, the party stands there. With the full extent of the plot now unravelled before them, they realize they have been had... To be continued! |
